Chicago Proxies Privacy Policy

Version dated October 10, 2026. We run proxy hardware in Chicago, and the business works best when we know as little about you as we can get away with. This page lists exactly what we hold, why, for how long and who else touches it. It applies to chicagoproxies.com, the dashboard at chi.chicagoproxies.com, our Telegram bot and our support mailbox.

What we collect

To open an account we need an email address and a password, which we store hashed. When you pay we keep a payment reference: the order number, the amount, the method and the identifier the processor gives us, such as a transaction id or the last four digits of a card. We never see or store a full card number. Crypto payments leave us with the blockchain transaction id and the address we issued.

While a line is active our systems log connection metadata: the time a session was opened, the proxy login that opened it, the source IP it came from, the device and port that served it, byte counts and the carrier address assigned at that time. We also keep support messages you send us by email or through Telegram, together with your Telegram user id if you use the bot, so we can follow up and so we can tell which account a message belongs to.

What we do not collect

We do not record, inspect or store the contents of the traffic you send through a line. We do not keep the URLs you visit, the pages you load or the data you post. HTTPS traffic through a proxy is end-to-end encrypted between your client and the site, and we have no reason and no wish to break that. We do not ask for your name, postal address, phone number or any government identity document unless a payment processor requires a billing name for a specific transaction.

Cookies and analytics

The website sets a session cookie so that you stay logged in and a small preference cookie for language and theme. We do not run advertising trackers, retargeting pixels or social widgets. Page view counts come from our own server logs, which record an IP address and a user agent and are rotated out after a short time. There is nothing to opt out of because there is nothing following you around the web.

Why we use it and how long we keep it

Account data is used to run your account and to send you service email about renewals, outages and replies to your tickets. Payment references are kept for as long as accounting and tax law require, which is usually several years. Connection metadata is kept for ninety days and then deleted; it exists so that we can troubleshoot your line, answer a lawful request about an address and detect abuse. Support conversations are kept while the account exists and for one year afterwards. When an account is closed, the remaining account data is removed within thirty days unless a legal obligation makes us keep a specific record.

Who else sees it

Three kinds of third parties touch your data, and only the part each one needs. Payment processors, meaning the card gateway, PayPal, crypto payment software and our bank, receive what is required to take the payment. Our transactional email provider receives your address and the message we are sending you. Telegram carries any conversation you have with our bot under Telegram's own policy. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. If a court or an agency with proper authority demands records, we provide what the law requires and no more.

Your rights

You can see the data we hold about you by asking from the email address on the account. You can correct it, export it or ask us to delete it. Deletion closes the account, since we cannot run a line for a customer we have no record of; records we are legally required to keep, such as invoices, stay until that requirement expires. If you are in a place with a privacy law that gives you further rights, we honour those on request. We answer within thirty days.

Security

Passwords are hashed, the dashboard is served over HTTPS only, and the hardware in the Chicago rack is reachable from the outside only through the proxy ports you are given. Staff access to customer records is limited to the people who handle support and billing, and that access is logged. No system is perfect; if we ever learn of a breach that affects your data, we will tell you by email as soon as we have confirmed what happened.

Children

The service is for adults. We do not knowingly take accounts from anyone under eighteen, and if we learn that an account belongs to a minor we close it and delete the data.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the version date at the top moves and the dashboard shows a notice. Questions, access requests and deletion requests go to [email protected]; you can also reach a person through @ChicagoProxiesBot on Telegram.

Questions

Do you log the sites I visit through the proxy?

No. We log that a session opened, from where, when and how much it moved. The destination and contents are not recorded.

Will my email be used for marketing?

We send service email: renewals, outages, ticket replies. We do not run newsletters or hand your address to anyone selling something.

How do I get my account deleted?

Email [email protected] from the account address and ask. The account closes and the data goes within thirty days, apart from invoices we must keep by law.
